Join The Ohio State University College of Social Work for a free webinar providing attendees with an understanding of substance use disorder and the reproductive life course with a particular emphasis on opioid use disorder during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Historical context, current clinical practice guidelines, community-based interventions, and policy implications for best serving the needs of individuals and families impacted by opioid use disorder will be covered. Active participation and questions encouraged.

Objectives:

  • To describe the historical and current context of substance use disorder during pregnancy
  • To demonstrate an understanding of the social determinants of health and inequities in the lives of female clients and families impacted by substance use disorder
  • To apply a person-centered and trauma-informed framework to their work with families and children
